[Home] [About Us] [Contact Info] [Our Homes] [Senior Housing] [Home Care] [Hospice] [Newsletters] [Volunteers] [Employment] [Donations] [FAQ's] [Links] Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser  for Unique, the daughter of Roxanne Landers (Activities Director at the Lutheran Home - Livonia) Monday, March 21st 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Home Livonia 28910 Plymouth Rd, Livonia, MI The following letter went out to all staff and interested congregations explaining the reason for this event: The purpose of this letter is to let you know about a fundraising dinner we are planning at the Lutheran Home Livonia, for Roxanne Landers, our Activities Director and her family. Many of you may already know that Roxanne's daughter, Unique is suffering from Rhabdomyosarcoma (which is a tumor in the striated muscular fibers of the spine). Unique who is five years old is coping with this disease as most children do, trying to still be a child and have fun. However, it has caused quite a strain on Roxanne and her husband Wardell, as they are very concerned with the outcome of their little girl's illness. Unique's treatment causes them to drive from Romulus (where they live) to Beaumont Hospital several times during the week. They were recently involved in a car accident while taking Unique for treatment. Roxanne has been out of work since before Thanksgiving, to take care of Unique. Her husband, Wardell has been out of work as well. All of these factors have put a great financial burden upon the family. We would like to help ease that burden by having a Spaghetti Dinner to raise money for the family. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans (Western Wayne Chapter) has approved matching funds for this fundraising activity. This letter serves as an invitation to you (and as many people you would like to bring) to come and join us at The Lutheran Home Livonia, 28910 Plymouth Road on Monday, March 21st from 5PM till 8PM. The dinner will include salad, spaghetti, garlic bread, desserts, coffee, tea, and punch. The cost will be $7.00 per plate for adults and $4.00 per plate for children (10 and under). (Carryout plates will also be available.) We hope that everyone will come to raise some funds to help Roxanne and Wardell with their finances. We are hoping to see you on the 21st of March where we will share time together, for a wonderful cause. Advance tickets are available in the front office.
