ANNUAL FUND

"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." - Colossians 3:12

CARING IS A GIFT

Christ teaches that the responsibility of His followers is to care for the less fortunate - much like the many seniors who seek the care provided by Lutheran Homes of Michigan. Through the years, the number of financially challenged seniors needing these services has continued to grow. However, state reimbursements, insurances and other resources only provide about half of the necessary funding.

Many seniors are in desperate need of financial support to help pay for their health care expenses, which is why Lutheran Homes has developed its Annual Fund.

The Lutheran Homes Annual Fund is a dedicated resource to provide health care to seniors who are not financially self-sufficient. The Fund also will enhance programs and services, and add much needed facilities. Contributors may designate their tax-deductible gift to a particular facility or specific programs, such as Hospice of Hope.

HOW DOES THE ANNUAL FUND FIT WITH THE MISSION OF LUTHERAN HOMES?

To provide quality care, programs, resources, and facilities that respond to the needs of seniors, Lutheran Homes must seek ways to sustain its services to the aging community. Lutheran Homes is aware of the growing population of seniors in need, and is committed to expanding the funding sources to accommodate the demand.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

A generous contribution to the Lutheran Homes Annual Fund is an ideal way to answer the call of seniors in need and honor Christian spiritual gifts of compassion, kindness, and caring.

To demonstrate your support of Lutheran Homes and its mission, please consider a donation to the Annual Fund. Your generous support will make a world of difference to seniors in need of compassionate health care.

LUTHERAN HOMES TOUCHES THE ELDERLY

Lutheran Homes of Michigan offers a variety of senior health care services including 24-hour skilled nursing and assisted-living facilities in Monroe, Frankenmuth, and Livonia. As part of the Lutheran Homes organization, the Lutheran Home Care Agency and Hospice of Hope respond to a full range of home care needs in Saginaw, Bay, Tuscola, Genesee, and Sanilac counties. Independent and assisted-living are provided at The Manors in Saginaw.

"This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God." - II Corinthians 9:12

A CARING GIFT

In life’s daily journey, there are many opportunities to be a Good Samaritan. The Lutheran Homes of Michigan Annual Fund is an ideal way to fulfill this role and express your caring and compassion for seniors.

Please consider a gift to ensure a continued quality of life to Michigan seniors. May you and your family enjoy God’s blessings.

WHAT IS THE LHM ENDOWMENT FUND?

Established in 2001, the LHM Endowment Fund is our response to God’s call to minister to seniors in Michigan. It will provide a secure foundation on which to build future services.

Regulatory guidelines often limit the funds available for much needed services. An Endowment Fund creates a strong resource when other funding sources may not be available.

THE LEGACY BEGINS NOW

The seniors in our lives are precious . . . a treasure to enjoy and cherish. The staff, board and volunteers associated with Lutheran Homes of Michigan are blessed to be able to work with seniors every day, sharing their lives and caring for them in a compassionate, Christ-centered way.

For more than 100 years, Lutheran Homes has answered the call to address the needs of Michigan’s seniors. For much of that time, the focus of our commitment has been on providing skilled nursing care to some of the most frail members of our society. And while we consider that an important responsibility, we also must realize that the nature of senior care is changing.

Today’s elderly want more care in their homes. When they choose to move to senior housing, they desire more independence and a greater variety of services and amenities.

Funding sources also are evolving. Today’s diligent regulatory environment leaves us with greater fiscal responsibility and a need to find new ways to fund our programs and services. More than ever, we need the help of our friends and supporters to keep our ministry alive and thriving.

The Lutheran Homes of Michigan Endowment Fund will be an important catalyst as we prepare for a vibrant future and create a legacy of everlasting care.

HOW DOES AN ENDOWMENT FUND WORK?

Your gift, no matter how large or small, is added to the donations of others, then invested and managed to preserve the principal and generate interest. As the fund grows, so too does our ability to carry out our mission.

HOW WILL THE MONEY BE SPENT?

The Lutheran Homes Endowment Fund will be used in a variety of ways, especially to:

  • Enhance current programs and services.

  • Add much needed facilities and expand current space.

  • Explore new areas of need and opportunity.

  • Provide care for any individual, even those who face serious financial constraints.

HOW DOES THE ENDOWMENT FUND FIT WITH THE MISSION OF LUTHERAN HOMES?

Part of our mission is to respond to God’s call to meet the needs of seniors in Michigan. As needs change, so must our programs and services, which is why we are motivated to keep doing more.

CAN I DESIGNATE MY CONTRIBUTION FOR A SPECIAL PURPOSE?

Yes, your tax-deductible gift may be designated for any purpose that furthers the mission of the organization and receives the financial approval of the LHM Board of Directors.

For example, a donor may wish to support the Chaplain program, the Hospice of Hope program or LHM services in their community. We would be happy to discuss specific giving opportunities with you.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

There are a number of ways to participate. You may:

  • Make a one-time financial contribution to the fund or monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual donations.

  • Include LHM Endowment Fund in your estate plan.

  • Make a provision for LHM in your will or living trust.

  • Contribute appreciated stock, life insurance or real property to the Fund.

A LEGACY THAT LASTS

God continues to open doors and offer light to guide our journey. Now we pray that He works in us and others to make sure the Lutheran Homes of Michigan Endowment Fund is a sound and viable asset for our future, so that our legacy is one of everlasting care for Michigan’s elderly.

Please consider making a gift to this important Fund, and may God richly bless you and your family.
